Yahoo Acquires Aviate Android Launcher

Recently at Yahoo’s CES 2014 Press Event, CEO Marissa Mayer announced that Yahoo has acquired contextual Android home launcher Aviate. The company didn’t reveal the acquisition amount. As more than 400 million users access Yahoo through mobile, so it will be a good move by Yahoo to create a personalized experience for them. Yahoo says that, Aviate service will not be shutting down after this acquisition.

Aviate released a statement stating the reason, why the company joined Yahoo:

When we met with Yahoo, it was obvious how aligned our visions are. Yahoo, like us, is all about simplifying and streamlining users’ daily habits through intelligent and beautiful products. We see endless opportunities for how the two of us can work together. We can’t wait to take this next step.
