it is very hard get defination of sikh one cannot write sikh defination in few words
gurbanni itself gives a man to be sikh more than 14oo pages gurbani helps a man to become a sikh and man try to follow and learn good things and get rid of bad things throught his life but still he she is not been able to say that they are perfect the thing
is that my dear if a person who throughout his life he is not been able to that position where he says yes i'm the true sikh then we can write defination in few words
instead of this heading u need to put a heading that about sikh or something like that so that we can learn from it and come more closer to sikhism its my view dear

i share my views but i cnnot say it is defination of sikh
it is very simple shown by over guruji but the thing is we just not able to get it
1)

2)jadon admee ch daya aa jandee hai tan oh dharmik ho janda hai os nu dhram ch vishvas hon lagh janda hai ik mareyda bnah leanda hai jiven kea jameer khelo
thion apan kahee vare khea dinhea han tera koee dharam eman hainee
es layee grur sahib ne dusrea singh da na rakhea cc dhram singh
3)dhram nu rakhan laye osnu karnee paindee hai himmat himmat kittea binh nahi oh apnea rah tea chal sakda kyunki eh duniya dharmic lokan dea rah ch bahut kandea sith dee hai himmat karnee peeandee hai naalea es da ek arth hor niklda hai kea jabir julam naal tea pana hak lain laee bandea nu himmat karh
but esda main center point haqi ka bandea apnea andar lukian hoyian buryian layee himmat karh thion

nicely put grewal bayee, but as far as i have heard, Guru Ji ne Panj Pyaareyaan de naam rakhe nahi si, balke ohna de naam pehlaan to hi ehi si, Guru Ji ne taan bass ohna de naam naal Singh jodeya si.
First one was Daya Ram, then Dharam Dass, Himmat Rai, Mohkam Chand and Sahib Chand.
these were their original names, n they got up in this manner, that it signified the order of Sikhi.

being sikh roughly means one who is learning, learning what.. well the truth.
i doesn't matter what religion you are from if you persue the truth you are sikh.
the truth is 100% pure, if your lucky enough to get to it, it doesn't matter how you got it. thats why being a sikh can not really be claimed by any religion.
However being sikh has been tied to sikhism, much like the term sadar has been tied to sikh (with turban).
so now there becomes 2 meanings. sikh as in a follower of sikhism. sikh as in learner.
now it really depends what way you look at it. but no one can deny the literal meaning.
