The Chhatbir Zoological Park will get a toy train soon. According to sources, after the ban on entry of two and three-wheelers inside the zoo, the authorities concerned had sent a proposal to start a toy train.
The zoo field director said the proposal had been approved by the Central Zoo Authority. The cost of the project was estimated at Rs 3 crore and the work would start soon, he added.
The director said the train would start from the zoo entrance and would have around five stoppages along the way.
He added that at least five wagons would be attached to the engine initially and the number would be increased subsequently.
Each wagon would have a seating capacity of 20 passengers, he added.
