Today Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee sacrificed his life and became a Shaheed to protect the rights and civil liberties of another faith....a faith he did not beleive in. Nowhere in history is there such an occurrence where the Prophet of one faith gives his life up to protect another faith. Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa Jee!!
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee writes in Bachittar Natak:
"Having smashed the potsherd of his life (physical body) on the head of Aurangzeb, the Emperor of Delhi, Guru Tegh Bahadur proceeded to the abode of the True Lord (passed away).
None else could perform such a remarkable feat as Guru Tegh Bahadur did.(15)
The world was drowned in the ocean of sorrow when Guru Tegh Bahadur departed
The whole world raised an uproar of lamentation whereas the gods in heaven greeted him with shouts of victory.(16)(215)"
ਮੈ ਹਾਂ ਤੇਗ ਤੇ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ ਤੇਗ ਤੂੰ ਵੀ,ਇੱਕ ਦੋ ਨਹੀ ਪਰਖ ਲੈ ਸ਼ੌ ਤੇਗਾਂ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲਕਵਾ ਹੈ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਦਾ,ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਂਹਵੇ ਨੀ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਖਲੋ ਤੇਗਾਂ॥
ਮੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੰਮਦਿਆਂ ਤੇਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਮਾਣੀ,ਵੇਖ ਪ
ਿਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਿਨੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਤੇਗਾਂ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਅਣਖ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਤੇ,ਰਿਹਾ ਪਰਖਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਿਉ ਤੇਗਾਂ॥
ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਵੇਖੇਗਾਂ ਆਉਦੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਅੰਦਰ,ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਣੀਆਂ ਓਹ ਤੇਗਾਂ॥ ਉਹਦੀ ਤੇਗ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੇਗ ਨਿਕਲੂ,ਓਹ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਲਏਗੀ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਖੋਹ ਤੇ
ਤਿਲਕ ਜੰਵੂ ਰਾਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾ ਕਾ ॥ ਕੀਨੋ ਬਡੋ ਕਲੂ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਕਾ ॥
(Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji) protected the forehead mark and sacred thread (of the Hindus) which marked a great event in the Iron age.
ਸਾਧਨ ਹੇਤਿ ਇਤੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰੀ ॥ ਸੀਸੁ ਦੀਆ ਪਰ ਸੀ ਨ ਉਚਰੀ ॥੧੩॥
For the sake of saints, (Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji) laid down his head without even a sigh.
ਧਰਮ ਹੇਤਿ ਸਾਕਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ॥ ਸੀਸੁ ਦੀਆ ਪਰ ਸਿਰਰੁ ਨ ਦੀਆ ॥
For the sake of Dharm, (Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji) sacrificed himself. (Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji) laid down his head but not his creed.
ਨਾਟਕ ਚੇਟਕ ਕੀਏ ਕੁਕਾਜਾ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲੋਗਨ ਕਹ ਆਵਤ ਲਾਜਾ ॥੧੪॥
