You are a complete shoe freak. You buy expensive shoes whenever you see a pair that catches your eyes. But, you are unable to keep them properly and make them last long.

Conditioning: When you get a new shoe at home, it's important to condition the shoe on the regular basis. Cleaning, conditioning, polishing and protecting your leather shoes can make them last for years. Shoe cleaners come in gels, foams, sprays, liquids and creams. One can use a soft shoe brush to remove the dirt from the surface of the shoe. Rub small amounts of conditioner into the shoe. After a while, rub the extra conditioner off the shoes, as the leather will only absorb what it can.

Polishing: Apply polish colour on a smaller area. If it matches the colour of the shoes, apply it properly on the whole shoe. If you think the laces look old, change them to make your shoes look fresh.

Spick and span: To clean leather shoes, rub petroleum jelly. Leave it for a while so that it gets absorbed. Clean with a soft clean cloth later. It will be shiny, and also prevent cracking. The place where you keep your shoes is also important.

Storing: If you have a pair of good dress shoes that you wear occasionally, keep them free of dust by storing them in a box. It's a good idea to invest in a shoe closet for your best pairs. For boots, it is best to store them in a linen bag so that they do not accumulate dirt.

No piling: Always remember to store your shoes in order. Or else, they will leave dirt or marks on other pairs. They should be arranged neatly in rows. Also, if you want to wipe expensive shoes, just dab a little mild fabric cleanser and wipe.
