The attack was carried out in Kadlabal in Pampore town of Pulwama district on Saturday afternoon, an official said.

An official said the militants managed to flee from the spot after the attack. Immediately after the incident, security forces cordoned the area and launched a search operation to track the militants.

Eight CRPF jawans were killed and 20 others injured earlier on June 25 in a militant ambush on a convoy in Pampore town’s Frestbal area. Two militants were also killed in retaliatory firing by security forces.

In February, five security forces personnel and a civilian were killed after militants first attacked a CRPF convoy outside the Entrepreneurship Development Institute building in Pampore on the Srinagar-Jammu highway and then entered the building. An encounter between the security forces and the militants lasted about 48 hours, with the three attackers being killed.
