Sony might launch its first Windows Phone in 2014, says The Information

According to recent reports by The Information, Sony is planning to launch a Windows Phone sometime this year (2014). If reports are true then Nokia will have a new competition in the Windows Phone market and it will also break Sony’s current loyalty to the Android Operating System.

But the report also notes that this deal is yet not finalized and the plans could be changed if Microsoft and Sony disagree over licensing fees, preloaded software, and other topics. Currently Windows Phone are well known as of Nokia Lumia Smartphones. All other leading vendors like Samsung and HTC are focusing much on world’s most popular mobile Operating System, ‘Android.’ So, to make Windows Phone’s success, Microsoft will require more and more vendors to join the competition.
