Saumya Tandon is an Indian actress. She is known for her role in the Sony TV aired soap Aisa Des Hai Mera, where she plays the role of a half-Brit girl named Rusty. Recently she worked in movie Jab We Met, starring Shahid Kapoor and ugly looking Kareena Kapoor, where she plays the role of Kareena's sister. She is currently hosting a shown in zee tv.
Early life -
Saumya did her MBA in Delhi. Her dad Dr.B.G.Tandon was a Professor and Head of the Department of English in Vikaram University in Ujjain and was a learned speaker and an authority on Shakespearean Literature.He wrote 17 books on different branches of English Literature. She is an ardent Jagjit Singh fan and Poet writer .She was born on 3 November 1979.She completed her schooling from,Ujjain.
Modelling and Soaps -
Saumya took up modelling assignments early in her career. She has done ad films and have been the first runner-up at a Femina Cover Girl contest. She auditioned for the role of Rusty in Aisa Des Hai Mera in 2005 and got it in early 2006. She also shot for a music video, titled Barsaat (composed by Pravin Bharadwaj) and shall also be seen in the soap Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni on Star Plus as Ria. However she recently quit the serial. and she did a leading role in album barsaat rain of luv.... and she is prithvi fav
