A sub-inspector (SI), who was found guilty of misbehaving with a principal of a private school in Dhanas, has been transferred to the Police Lines and a “regular inquiry” has been marked against him.
On January 5, Daljeet Singh, principal of the school, complained to the SSP that SI Gurdass Singh and two constables posted at the Sarangpur police station came to his school, misbehaved with him and forcibly took him to the police station. He alleged that a matter was pending in court and the policemen were pressuring him to enter a compromise. However, when he refused, they misbehaved with him and took him to the police station.
In the CCTV footage, the policemen were seen misbehaving with the complainant. A preliminary inquiry into the complaint was marked to Satish Kumar, DSP (Central), who found the policemen at fault. The DSP observed that the policemen misbehaved with the complainant.
The report was submitted to UT SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill, who transferred the SI to the Police Lines today and marked a “regular inquiry” into the matter.
