He took some time to earn his stripes for acting. No doubt, the talented Shahid Kapoor is a promising actor from the young brigade, and now his boyish charm has won over two maverick filmmakers of Indian cinema Deepa Mehta and Mira Nair. Both want to sign him in their respective films.
But the boy is learnt to be in a serious dilemma because he has to opt for one. The dates of both the films will clash as they are set to start around the same time. If on one side it’s Deepa Mehta of Water fame, the other side has Meera Nair, director of a film like Salaam Bombay. What is Shahid going to do? Saying no to anyone will mean losing out a golden opportunity with the other.
Deepa wants Shahid to star in a film titled Beeba Boyz and is planning to rope in Resident Evil action star Milla Jovovich opposite him. The film is about a Punjabi gangster and his blonde girlfriend.
And what Mira has for Shahid is a screen adaptation of Mohsin Hamid’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist, which indeed can prove to be a challenging role for the young actor.
Which one he would choose?
