Samsung may not have started pushing Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its Galaxy devices, however, a leaked list claims it should start next month. It's worth noting that this is not the first time a list has surfaced online with the claim of detailing Samsung's Android 6.0 Marshmallow update roadmap. Back in October a similar list was leaked online.

According to a leaked Android 6.0 Marshmallow update roadmap list (via TimesNews) for Samsung Galaxy devices, the South Korean will start pushing the latest build next month with its Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphones. The list adds that the company will release the Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in January. The Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are claimed to receive the update in February. Unfortunately, there is no time frame for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S5.

The second phase of rollout will include devices from Samsung's Galaxy A-series as well as Galaxy E-series handsets. At this point however the leaked list doesn't include the time frame for the devices.

Some of the new features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow (previously just Android M) include revamped app permissions; Google Now on Tap feature; new Chrome feature that will change the Web experience for Android users; new ways to handle Web links; Android Pay mobile payment system is now official with Android M; new fingerprint APIs for developers to add into their apps, New Silent feature for sound and vibrate mode as well as a 'Do Not Disturb' mode to block all sounds or only alarms and notifications, and battery saver features called Doze that will make Android devices smart about managing power. Some of the other additions include new RAM manager, adoptable storage devices, new app drawer, auto backup and restore for apps, and support for USB Type-C ports. We can expect Samsung to integrate Marshmallow features to its customised UI for the Galaxy devices.

Samsung late last month started rolling out an OTA firmware update for its Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphones primarily bringing improvements for call stability and battery life.

So far, Samsung has not revealed any plans to update the Galaxy S6 Edge+ alongside other top of the line handsets such as the Galaxy Note 5 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The new leaked list however suggests that the smartphones are part of the company's first wave of Marshmallow rollouts.
