Chandigarh July 1:

Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP Core Committee has constituted a two-member coordination committee to chalk out an effective action plan against ''unprecedented inflation unleashed by Congress led UPA government.''

A SAD release today said the committee comprised senior SAD Leader and Punjab Education Minister Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Punjab BJP President Ashwani Sharma. The Core Committee had finalized a three-pronged programme to lodge a strong protest against the ''back-breaking'' inflation by organising a Punjab Bandh on July 4 and submitting memoranda through Ministers, MPs and MLAs to state Governor and President.

Meanwhile, Mr Sekhwan and Mr Sharma today constituted District level coordination committees to make June 4 bandh a grand success. They said district presidents of SAD and BJP, MLAs and Halka (area) incharges had been included in these coordination committees and further directed to motivate the cadre to go all out to strongly protest against inflation.

Mr Sekhwan pointed out that the recent hike in prices of petro products had put an accumulative burden on the residents of Punjab to the tune of Rs 1500 crore and the Punjab government from its limited resources had given a relief of more than Rs 100 crore. Mr Sekhwan categorically said that SAD-BJP would take its fight against inflation to its logical end and would not allow Congress led UPA to make the life of common man miserable.
