The newly-weds leave India
After their much-hyped wedding at a resort near the Ranthambore National Park on Saturday, British comedian Russell Brand and American pop star Katy Perry left for Maldives for their honeymoon on Monday.
“The aircraft took off around 1430 hrs for Maldives with Perry and Russell on-board,” R K Singh, director of the Sanganer airport, is quoted as saying by a news agency.
Immigration sources said only the couple was travelling in the aircraft. The celebrity duo wore casuals and Katy had her face covered most of the time.
Earlier in the day, they left for Jaipur from Sawaimadhopur in a helicopter which had to land again at the helipad moments later. After about 10 minutes, the chopper took off again. Reports say the pilot might have been forced to land due to some technical snag.
