A clash broke out between two rival groups due to an old enmity at the government hospital here last night.
The incident occurred late last night when a truck full of armed men entered in the hospital and tried to attack some of the injured people already admitted in the civil hospital from nearby Badali village.
Sources revealed that two groups had fought with each other in Badali village, and around a dozen people got injured. The police reportedly fired gunshots in air to control the situation. The drunken attackers then reached Kharar civil hospital to beat up the injured admitted there.
The injured were identified as Surjit Singh, Sant Singh, Bahadur Singh, Avtar Singh, Balwinder Singh, Jagjit Singh, Swaran Kaur, Sanjeev Kumar, Surinder Singh, Ram Kumar, Charanjit Singh and few others. The police the statements of the injured were being recorded and action would soon be initiated after completion of inquiry.
The staff on duty had to save themselves by locking their rooms, from where they called up the police. The hospital staff rued that despite demanding security from the police during night hours, nothing has been done in this regard.
Earlier also similar incidents had been reported wherein people clash on the hospital premises.
