Rich Bread & Butter Pudding

Time Taken : 15-30 mins.

25 slices - bread (preferably a day old)
60 g - clarified butter
230 g - granulated sugar
570 ml - milk
4 - eggs
1/2 cup - chopped almonds
1 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
1 tsp - cinnamon power For the Sauce:
110 g - melted butter
50 g - castor sugar
6 - eggs
1 tsp - vanilla essence


  1. Line a baking dish and place bread on it. In a bowl, mix sugar, eggs, milk, cinnamon powder and vanilla essence.
  2. Pour this mixture over the bread slices and press with a spatula so that the bread gets soaked.
  3. Top with chopped almonds.
  4. Add to the clarified butter and press until the chopped almonds also gets soaked.
  5. Bake at 180°C for an hour or so.
  6. Add sugar to the melted butter and cook over low flame until sugar dissolves.
  7. Do not allow it to turn brown.
  8. Beat eggs and add vanilla essence. Add the egg mixture.
  9. Cut pudding and pour sauce. Serve hot.
