Rare pic of 1993.Nishan Sahib hoisted along with other nations flags. Khalistan was admitted to UNPO on Jan 23, 1993 and Khalistan’s flag (Nishan Sahib) hoisted at UNPO’S (Unrepresented Nations Peoples Organizations) General Assembly meeting at The Hague, Netherlands, a major milestone in the struggle for reclamation of the lost Sikh sovereignty and for the freedom of Sikh Homeland of Punjab, Khalistan. The last time the Sikh Flag (Nishan Sahib) flew over the sovereign Sikh state was in 1849. Sikh nation lost its sovereignty to the British. On Jan 23, 1993, one hundred forty four years after the Sikhs lost their sovereignty, Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh, Dr.Paramjit Singh Ajrawat and S. Bhupinder Singh Holland signed the covenant of Khalistan’s admission into UNPO.

This is what I get to know from other sources:

UN told us that how can Sikhs ask for freedom when they already have freedom? We questioned what do you mean freedom ,UN said Sikhs(Hindus) are already free and they have India(Hindustan) so if Hindus(Sikhs) are free why do they want a seperate nation from their fellow Hindus, - he knew we was a seperate nation and all that but he was pointing to something in the Indian Constitution that Sikhs are catergorized as Hindus, and India uses this to shut up human rights groups and the UN by saying Sikhs are Hindus and Hindus already have freedom.

Khalistan was thrown out of the UNPO a few months after it joined, this happened through Indian Pressure and foolish pro Indian Sikhs within our own Gurdwareh's and Communities who called Khalistanis extremists and said they do not represent Sikhs.
