Considering the gravity of the high court verdict on the Ayodhya case on September 24, the makers of the Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer Anjaana Anjaani have decided to postpone the film’s release from September 24, this Friday, to October 1, next Friday.

The film’s producer Sajid Nadiadwala is quoted to have said: “The Ayodhya issue is much bigger and needs its respect. The film is a happy one and so we decided to release it on a more peaceful day, a week later.”

Earlier the film’s lead actor Ranbir Kapoor had expressed his apprehensions over the film’s release on the same day as the Ayodhya verdict.

Security is being tightened in many states in the days leading to the verdict and there are chances that people may not venture out to theatres to watch Anjaana Anjaani due to security concerns.

Now, Anjaana Anjaani will clash with the Aishwarya Rai-Rajnikanth starrer Endhiran (Robot) on October 1.
