Chandigarh August 6:
Moderate to heavy rains lashed a few places in Punjab on Thursday. In Punjab, Batala received a maximum rainfall of 39.5 mm while Gurdaspur had 12.1 mm rains.
Hoshiarpur (18.1 mm), Dasuya (4.6 mm), Mukerian (30.4 mm), Phillaur (19 mm), Balachaur (7.4 mm), Ropar (18 mm), Anandpur Sahib (36 mm) and Mohali (5 mm) were among other places in the state to be lashed by rains, the MET said here.
Chandigarh was also lashed by 1 mm rain early morning today. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature in the region hovered below the 35 degrees Celsius mark. The MET has forecast that light to moderate rains are likely to occur in the region during the next two days.
