After winning ‘The Golden Gateway of India trophy’ at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival last month, Punjabi film ‘Chauthi Koot’ (The Fourth Direction), directed by Gurvinder Singh, bags top honour at Singapore International Film Festival and Auteur Film Festival in Belgrade.
The 115-minute drama, based on 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots,is about the stories of two friends unfloded during a train journey to Amritsar.
The SGIFF jury, headed by Brillante Mendoza, said: “Through a masterful execution, ‘The Fourth Direction’ makes us experience the fear and tension of the era and how the political situation is influencing the life of this family.” SOURCE: TOI
