Punjab News Phagwara girl chosen for int'l conference

Seventeen-year-old Jaiprabh Kaur has been chosen as a `peace ambassador' for the 22nd International Asia Pacific Children Convention (APCC) to be held at Fukuoka city in Japan from July 16 to 27.

Kaur, a Class XII student of Apeejay School in Jalandhar, is the only Indian among 29 children from the 32 member countries who have got the honour after an online interview by the selection committee of the APCC.

The India chapter of NGO Junior Chamber International (JCI) helped the JCI Fukuoka chapter, which organises the annual convention, in the selection process. Kaur, accompanied by Phagwara JCI presiden Raghbir Singh and her par ents Mukhinder Singh and Paramjit Kaur, told HT tha the objective of the confer ence was to promote world wide peace and also to share culture, language and cus toms of the participating coun tries.
