Former Gurdaspur SP Salwinder Singh, who had courted controversy after his official vehicle was used by four terrorists to reach Pathankot airbase in January, has been booked by Punjab Police for allegedly outraging the modesty of seven women constables.

The matter was first reported in an anonymous complaint to Punjab Police DGP Suresh Arora in February this year. Following this, more women constables had joined the inquiry and complained against him.
The fresh FIR comes barely three months after he was booked for charges of bribery and rape following a two-year-old complaint against him by the husband of the rape victim.Salwinder had recently got bail but is not at large, the Gurdaspur Police said. "We will arrest him right away. He is not reachable at the moment," said Gurdaspur SSP Jasdeep Singh. Salwinder was quizzed by National Investigation Agency (NIA) over the waylaying of his official vehicle by terrorists in the Pathankot airbase attack. The recent probe was completed by IG (modernization) Gurpreet Kaur Deo who had led the SIT set up after the anonymous complaint.
