A total of 233 capped players were named in the list for the 2014 IPL auctions but the list did not contain any Pakistan players while big names such as Michael Clarke and Kumar Sangakkara were conspicuous by their absence.

In a register of capped players released to the franchises, 46 players each were from India and Australia while there were 39 Sri Lankans and 29 West Indians on the list.

When asked about the non-inclusion of Pakistan players, a franchise representative, on the condition of anonymity, told Mumbai Mirror: "It is not surprising. That has been the trend of late, anyway. The presence of the Pakistan players creates security concerns for the team and there is no guarantee that the franchises would be willing to buy them if they are in the auction."

The IPL governing council also revealed the base prices for the players - the minimum price is Rs 30 Lakhs while the maximum base price is Rs 2 Crore.

Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Dinesh Karthik and Amit Mishra were some of the Indian players in the 2 Crore bracket which also had international players like Jacques Kallis, Mitchell Johnson, Kevin Pietersen and Brendon McCullum.

The top ranked T20I batsmen Alex Hales was also part of the 2 Crore bracket while New Zealand sensation Corey Anderson bagged himself a base price of Rs 1 Crore.
