Every year there's always a huge amount of hype around the annual launch of new iPhones, and 2018 is going to be no different.

The big day is almost upon us and the rumours are coming thick and fast: we're hearing there are likely to be three new iPhone X phones in the 2018 line-up, and maybe even a new iPhone SE too (though that seems less likely).

Most if not all of these new devices are set to use Apple's new 7nm A12 chip so will offer significantly enhanced performance over last year's models.

To make sure you're right up to date with everything we've heard about the successors to the iPhone X – a set of phones which all signs indicate will still be called the iPhone X for now – we've collected together all the gossip and tittle-tattle about the 2018 iPhones right here on this page.

Make sure you check back regularly for the latest news, as we piece together the puzzle of the next batch of iPhones

NEW IPHONE X (2018) PRICE
The price is likely to play a big part in your decision whether or not to buy the 2018 iPhone. Perhaps due to reports of sluggish sales for the premium iPhone X, it has been reported that the 2018 iPhone X will retail for a slightly more affordable $899, while the new iPhone X SE will cost $799, and iPhone X Plus $999.

Apple often keeps dollar and pound sterling pricing the same, so we might be looking at £899, £799, and $999 respectively.

This makes sense to us as we have heard speculation that Apple has managed to shave off the cost of the iPhone X by 10 percent while it's been ramping up production. So you may be able to get new iPhone tech a little cheaper than last year this time around

This is an easier one to call. Like clockwork, Apple always schedules an iPhone launch for September, so it won't want to ruin its production plans now.

want to ruin its production plans now.

That means the new iPhone announcement is almost certain to be in September 2018 – and most likely on September 12 at 10am San Francisco time (that's 1pm in New York and 6pm in London).

There will undoubtedly be a live stream of the event, if you're not in the hallowed circle of invitees, and following the unveiling we'd expect the 2018 iPhone release date to be around the end of September.

Apple is apparently keen to avoid any shipping delays, and has been producing the new phones for a while now, according to reports.

All the rumours and speculation we've seen so far hint at the 2018 iPhone models being very similar in terms of design this time around, with the "old" iPhone style getting retired completely.

Here are some of the many leaked images to hit the web – as you can see, there isn't a huge amount of difference between this and the iPhone X from 2017.

As for 2018 iPhone X colours, the silver and space grey we saw on the 2017 models aren't likely to go anywhere any time soon, but the gold sheen found on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is being tipped to make it to the iPhone X range this year.

Apple recently launched red editions of its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus handsets, to help raise money for AIDS charities, so that might happen again this time around... although the iPhone X has so far been left out of the red party, so we're not holding our breath.

There has also been talk of Apple's new super-sized iPhone X Plus being made available in a unique gold colourway.

It’s also been said – and seems logical – that the more affordable iPhone X will use modern, primary colour blocking, similar to the old iPhone 5C. It sounds like you'll have plenty of choice when it comes to the new phones.
