Microsoft to offer Windows Phone free to Karbonn and Xolo
According to the recent reports by the Economic Times, Microsoft is planning to offer Windows Phone license free of cost to its two new Indian partners. Karbonn and Xolo are said to get Windows Phone license free of cost. Karbonn has already announced that it is planning to launch a new dual-boot Windows Phone and Android smartphone in the coming months. Xolo is yet to announce its plans for launching a Windows Phone device, but the company already launched Xolo Win, its first Windows 8 tablet powered by AMD chip.
This move will really help Microsoft to increase the number of affordable Windows Phone handsets in the market. Microsoft is all set to unveil its new Windows Phone 8.1 Update which will focus on affordable smartphones powered by Snapdragon 200 and 400 chipsets, with minimum 512MB of RAM and 4GB of Internal Storage.
