Recipe Melina's Fig Cake

4 1/4 cup flour
2 cups sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ginger
2 cups broken pecans
1 cup to 2 c. raisins [if desired]
1 cup 2 c. dates [if desired]
1/2 cup dark molasses
3/4 cup milk
1 cup oil
2 eggs
8 ounces Orange marmalade or Orange rinds (thin julienne)
1 quart canned figs, crushed

Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly; mix all liquid ingredients thoroughly, then combine and bake for 60 minutes at 350 degrees in a 10x16 pan or during holidays in mini loaf pans to give as gifts. Bring out a tall glass of milk or a cup of coffee and enjoy.
