Newly wed Indian actress Rani Mukherjee says marriage will never be a hindrance in her work.

After marriage, many actresses in Bollywood slow down their work, but not Mukherjee, who is playing tough cop Shivani Roy in her latest release Mardaani.

“It is said that the first year of marriage is honeymoon period. But my honeymoon started with promotions of Mardaani. I have got a supportive husband, I don’t think he [Aditya] will ever want me to slow down, until and unless, I decide,” Mukherjee said.

The 36-year-old actress says her marriage will never be a hindrance in work and that she will wait for the right scripts.

“I can never stop work, maybe I can take a break. But I will keep waiting for good scripts,” she said.

Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra were secretly married in Italy in April this year.

The Black actress said: “I think women tend to slow down in their careers when they get pregnant. In the West, there are so many actresses who work during pregnancy. Here, if there is a director who wants to work with me, while I am pregnant, then why not,” she said.

Mukherjee added: “My husband is a director and producer himself and he knows what exactly goes into filmmaking. If he feels it is correct for the script and if I am comfortable, then it’s fine. He is very busy and has no time to sit with me on script and tell me what to do and what not,” she said.

Though Mukherjee does not seem to found her next film yet, but she has made it clear that it will not be with Yash Raj Films.
