His wife and mother claimed so after seeing his body brought back from USSR those days. Enquiry committee could not find the cook employed for him by Russians. The report was never made public. May be CIA or KGB got him murdered as they were closer to Indra/ Nehru. Lal Bhadur Shastri was a honest and efficient politician. He never suited USA and USSR.
