Mum-of-one Ashlee, 26, who hasn’t scored an acting gig since her Melrose Place remake was cancelled after just one season, was all smiles when she debuted her new man, Boardwalk Empire’s Vincent Piazza, last week, but behind closed doors, sources have told Star that her partying is worrying Jessica.
“Ashlee is downing eight to 10 bottles of wine a week,” a source told Star. “Jessica is on a mission to save Ashlee from self-destructing.”
Having abandoned her music career, and with pals claiming her love of partying led to her split from husband Pete Wentz last year, Jess has given Ashlee a job designing a teen clothing range, to stop her going off the rails.
“[Jessica] is helping her out professionally by designing teen clothes under her label,” said the insider. “But it’s not exactly stretching independence for someone who’s never really had an identity that wasn’t associated with her sister’s.”
