Intex Aqua Wonder 2 to hit shelves on April 15 for Rs 9,990

Intex has announced a new smartphone in its Aqua line-up. Dubbed the Aqua Wonder 2, the dual-SIM handset will be hitting store shelves on April 15 and will cost Rs 9,990.

The smartphone will be powered by a quad-core processor from Mediatek. To keep the phone alive, it is equipped with a 1800 mAh battery. It will also have 512MB of RAM. While it may not be the smoothest of rides, the specifications of the device point towards it concentrating on hitting the sub-10,000 price tag for a quad-core processor.

Intex has also stated that it will be announcing two other smartphones that will sport a quad-core processor, but they will be priced higher – in the Rs 10,000 to 15,000 price bracket, to be exact. Both the phones will sport 5-inch displays, with one having a qHD resolution while the other with a full HD resolution.

The Wonder 2 is a successor to the Wonder, which was launched in early February. The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and has 512MB of RAM. The device looks sleek, has an 8.9 mm-thick waistline and weighs 125 g.

It comes with a 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The phone has an 8 megapixel rear camera with dual-flash and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. The device gives you 1.93GB of storage space and supports microSD cards up to 32GB in size.

Back in February, Intex had launched the Aqua Style for Rs 11,200. The Style runs on Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. It supports 3G video calling through SIM/third party applications and is designed to function and communicate at a greater speed. This gives the user ample space to save multiple heavy files. The interactive user icons can be personalised at the homescreen for easy access to frequently used files and apps.

The phone boasts of a 2500mAh battery, which gives user a talktime of 3.5 hours and 100 hours of standby. Other features include face unlock, flip mute, pattern lock security, smart screen capture, music player with 3D equaliser, file manager, four sensors- G- Sensor, proximity, motion and gesture etc.
