A major breakthrough has been achieved in the Rs 6.6 crore diamond heist from a Mumbai jewelry show on Monday evening as the Interpol have detained four suspects in Dubai.

According to the Mumbai crime branch, the diamonds missing from the jewelry show have been found on the suspects including a women. The suspects who have been identified as Caposmolan Elias, Guerrerolugo, Gonzalez Maldonado Mauricso and Guterierrez Orlando had boarded flight EK 509 Mumbai-Dubai-Hamburg on Monday evening after allegedly committing the crime.

According to the police, the heist was cleverly hatched and flawlessly executed by the international gang. Monday was the last day of the India International Jewelry Show -2010 at Bombay Exhibition Center at Goregoan. Being the afternoon of the last day, the staff of Dalumin Company of Hong Kong were busy winding up. Two of the gang members posing as a couple and diverted the attention of the salesperson while other member taking advantage of the lack of attention walked away with the diamonds. The diamonds were missed when the staff made an inventory while packing in the evening. The police zeroed on the suspects on checking the recording of the CCTV footage.

The police tried in vain to nab the culprits by sealing all the exits for two hours. On realizing the accused had slipped, the police checked with the emigration authorities and found that the suspects were already on their way to Hamburg with a halt at Dubai. Prompt coordination on the part of the law enforcement agencies resulted in prompt action taken by the Dubai Interpol to nab the suspects. The crime branch sleuths are already on their way to Dubai to claim the custody of the culprits and the diamonds.
