Toronto June 28:

The Indian government is reviewing the matter of "blacklist" of Sikh refugees residing in Canada after they came here in the wake of anti-Sikh riots in India in 1984. The Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with the Ministry of Home Affairs, MEA sources said reacting to some reports in this regard.

The Canadian Sikhs have requested for a review of the "blacklist" of the refugees, who cannot go to India until their names remain in that list. They had come to Canada without any valid travel documents. Singh is likely to meet Canadian MPs and Ontario state legislators of Indian origin tomorrow before he leaves for home when the matter may come up.
