The Indian selection panel announced the 30-member probables list for the T20 WC, which is set to take place in Bangladesh from March 16. Youngsters Sanju Samson, Unmukt Chand and Mandeep Singh were part of the squad that also had senior players like Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh.

Samson's inclusion is a well-earned one as the 19-year-old has done well for the Rajasthan in the IPL and the Champions League while he scored 530 runs at an average of 58.88 in the ongoing edition of the Ranji trophy.

Chand, who led the India Under-19 team to a World Cup win in 2012, has performed well with the bat for Delhi in the List A and First Class games this season while Mandeep Singh has registered a few big scores for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy. Kedhar Jadhav, who is currently the highest run-scorer in the 2013-14 edition of Ranji Trophy, is also part of the team.

The squad did not have room for discarded openers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag while Yusuf Pathan and Robin Uthappa's names were also missing. Gambhir's last international appearance for India was in January 2013, when he played an ODI against England. Sehwag's last Indian outing was in March 2013, when he played the 2nd Test against Australia.

Ishwar Pandey, who was named in the squads for the New Zealand tour, finds a place in this one as well while Varun Aaron name also featured in the 30-man squad.

Apart from the regulars, the squad had left-arm orthodox spinner Shahbaz Nadeem, who did well for Delhi in the IPL apart from being amongst the wickets for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy.

All-rounders Rajat Bhatia and Stuart Binny also found a place in the team while Irfan Pathan did not make the cut. Karn Sharma, the 26-year-old left-handed all-rounder who represents Railways, was part of the team.

While Mahendra Singh Dhoni is expected to lead the team apart doing the wicket-keeping duties, Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel provide the backup.

The selectors also announced a 30-member squad of women for the ICC Women's World Twenty20, which starts on March 23 and ends on April 6, the same day when the men's tournament ends.
