Not much meat in the role

Imran Khan was the first choice to play the role of the Wharton graduate Arjun Burman in this Friday’s release Aisha, but the role eventually went to Abhay Deol.

It’s unclear what Imran did not like in his role or if he had no dates to spare. But he politely turned down the offer from his I Hate Luv Storys co-star Sonam Kapoor and her sister Rhea Kapoor who is the producer of Aisha.

“Rhea and Sonam did send the script over to Imran. I don't know why he didn't do it. Maybe he was wary of a script that was named after the heroine. But Abhay is the perfect choice,” Anil Kapoor, father of Sonam and Rhea, told a news agency.

After Imran turned down the film, Anil Kapoor even suggested the Aisha team to change the film’s title because he doubted that any established actor would take the role in a film dedicated to its leading lady.

Abhay, however, had no issues and came on board.
