If We Were Color Blind

If we were color blind, prejudice would be soulful drink.
Race would be only an athletic competition.
Black and white would only be paint used by the highway department.
Redneck would be a morning songbird,
And nigger would be a musical instrument.
Hatred would be food for cattle.
Equality would be our daily bread.
Harmony would be vegetable for our plate.
Peace, a slice of cake, topped with love and understanding,
And God would be so pleased.
