iBall seems to be on a roll with its new affordable handsets. After launching the Fab9, entry-level handset earlier this month, the company has crafted an all new Android smartphone with a sub-10K price tag. Priced at Rs.9,999 and weirdly christened the Andi 2, it will face some competition in this space. Adding to the competition will be the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman whose price was slashed to around 11k on an e-shop.

Sub-10k Android smartphone

iBall’s Andi 2 smartphone runs on Android 2.2, which is obviously disappointing. It has a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen and is fuelled by an 800MHz processor. Besides, the handset also promises high quality sound and a long battery life. A 3.0 megapixel camera will help take quick snapshots, while there’s also a front facing VGA camera. On the connectivity front, it offers an array of options, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS and 3G capabilities. It also has the usual microSD card slot, dual SIM standby mode and is equipped with a 1450 mAh battery.

Take a quick look at the specs of the iBall Andi 2:
3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen
Android Froyo 2.2
3G, GPRS, Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
3 Megapixel rear camera
VGA front facing camera
microSD card slot
3.5mm headphone jack
1450 mAh battery

We’ve seen this peripheral manufacturer venture into the trending tablet space with the affordable Slide Tablet PC, based on the Android operating system. The company has released some unique phones, too. It had launched a series of phones for the elderly that comprised of two models - Aasaan and Arpan, sporting large buttons and fonts. Along with this phone, the company had also taken the wraps off a phone that can float, the iBall Floater.
