The Bombay High Court Tuesday issued notices to megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Sony TV and the censor board on a petition challenging promos of the forthcoming season of Kaun Banega Crorepati show.

Petitioner Mumbai businessman Mukesh Sharma contended that a series of six promos telecast as a build-up to the show "insulted and maligned" the slogan of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azadi doonga (You give me blood, I will give you freedom).

"There are six promos which have been telecast over a month. Of these, five have been twisting and mutilating the historic and inspiring slogan of Subhash Chandra Bose. Every time I saw the promos, my blood boiled and I finally decided to do something about it," Sharma.

Sharma added that Bachchan should have raised objection to the promos — "but since nobody did anything, as a common and conscientious citizen, I decided to act in the matter."
