Help save a three-year-old's heart NDTV check it plzz
3 years old Harshita is struggling with her life due to a rare and fatal heart related problem. As per the doctors report, one of the 2 arteries has not developed in her since her birth itself. This has resulted in a hole in her heart. Harsita is the only daughter of Amit Luthra and Achala Luthra of Basti Bawa Khel in Jalandhar. Amit Luthra works in a private insurance firm. Little Harshita is of course too small to be aware of her condition. However her condition is worsening with her age.
According to the doctors, this treatment is not possible in India and is only available in US. Mr. Amit Luthra contacted cardiac surgeons Dr. Pedro Del Nido and Dr. Jane Newburger of Children’s Hospital Boston through e-mail. They have agreed to take up the case and assured them positive result. Also they have informed Luthra family that the total cost for this treatment is as much as 88,510 dollars which is nearly Rs 60 lakhs in Indian currency. It is next to impossible for Amit Luthra to arrange this huge amount. However they are still hoping for the best and had written to the President of India, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of the state for financial help.
Mr. Amit Luthra and Mrs. Achala Luthra are still waiting to hear from the office of the ministers. Meanwhile they are requesting the general public to come up with their voluntary donations to help the little child.
