The foods we consume play a huge role in maintaining good heart health. So, fuel your body with this vitamin-rich, fibre-filled heart loving soup. It is rich in protein and includes a variety of vegetables like garlic, onions and tomatoes, which will improve your cardiovascular health. This recipe was shared by Registered Dietician, Akansha Jhalani.


Ingredients:


• 2 cups of boiled lentils
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1 small tomato, finely chopped
• 3 cloves of garlic
• 2 stalks of celery, chopped
• 1 small sweet potato-boiled, deskinned and cut into peices
• 1 tsp olive oil
• 2 tsps of coriander leaves
• Salt, paprika and pepper to taste

Method:

1. Heat the olive oil in a pot and add onions to it. Sauté until brown.
2. To this, add the garlic, celery, paprika and sauté for a bit
3. Add the sweet potato, tomatoes and lentils to this pot with 2 small cups of water, simmer and cook for 5 minutes
4. Add salt and pepper to this and top it up with coriander leaves
5. Serve immediately
