HEALTHY CHICKEN BURGER
Ever popular snack made healthy with brown rice and brown bread.
Preparation Time : 20-25 minutes

INGREDIENTS
Chicken mince 1 1/2 cups
Onion , finely chopped 1 small
Garlic, finely chopped 1 clove
Apple, grated 1 small
Brown rice, cooked 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Dry Basil a pinch
Dry oregano a pinch
Black pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
Oil to shallow fry
For sauce
Oil 1 tablespoon
Ginger, grated 1 inch piece
Orange juice 1 cup
Brown sugar 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Dark soy sauce 1 teaspoon
Tomato puree 1/4 cup
Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
Cornflour/ corn starch 1 tablespoon
To Serve
Whole meal buns 4
Lettuce 4 leaves
METHOD
Take chicken mince in a bowl. Add onion, garlic, apple, boiled brown rice and mix thoroughly. Add salt, dried basil, dried oregano, pepper powder and mix well.Heat oil in a pan. Shape the mixture into patties and shallow fry on both sides till they are golden brown. To make the sauce, heat oil and add grated ginger. Add orange juice, brown sugar, salt, dark soy sauce and reduce. Add tomato puree, red chilli powder and mix. Simmer till it is slightly reduced. Add cornflour dissolved in a little water and mix till the sauce is sufficiently thick. Slice the buns into two horizontally. Place a lettuce leaf over one half. Place a chicken burger over it and cover with the other half. Serve immediately with the sauce.
