Hair Mascara

Getting your hair done can be pricey, especially if you are constantly getting your locks trimmed, treated, and styled by the finest salons in your neighborhood. If this sounds like you, then kudos, you’ve done well. Of course, when it comes to haircare, some of us are not quite as dedicated to the upkeep. Enter hair mascara—your solution to ugly roots and early grays.

One of our favorite hair mascaras is the all-natural Gray Disappear ($15.99) made by LA-based Generation Klean. While this bad boy isn’t permanent, it works on all hair colors, offering a gorgeous temporary fix until you are able to make your next hair appointment.

Paraben, sulfate, and propylene glycol free, Gray Disappear is a healthy alternative to box dye, which contains chemical ingredients that can dry and damage your hair. Instead, Gray Disappear is a product packed with antioxidants, vitamin E, panthenol, and natural waxes.

You can purchase Gray Disappear on the Generation Klean website or at any Whole Foods Market.

We also love TouchBlack (29.95) and ColorMark (21.95). Touchblack offers eight classic shades, while Colormark offers ten. TouchBlack sticks to the hair with its temporary hair colors so that it won’t flake, which tends to occur when using hair mascaras. ColorMark contains conditioners, making it great for the time in-between your next salon visit. The marker also allows users to apply exactly where it is needed. Both do not contain ammonia or peroxide.

For more color, and since pastel hair is definitely trending, try Color Hair Mascara by Sultra ($24). This fun hair mascara is free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals, phthalates, and GMOs. Use it on any hair color for any occasion!
