GIRL DISAPPEARS MYSTERIOUSLY, KIDNAP CASE REGISTERED

A 22-year-old girl, who lived on Ajnala Road, has been missing since April 29. On the complaint of Ramneet Kaur’s father Gurdial Singh, the district police registered a case of kidnapping against
Harjit Singh under sections 363, 366, 506 and 120-B of the IPC at Sadar police station. The complainant alleged that he had received a call from the accused, demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore. Amritsar SSP Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh said parents of Ramneet, a student of BA-II, had alleged that she has been kidnapped by the accused.
He, however, said today the police authorities had received a phone call from the girl, who said that she had gone with the accused of her own. The SSP said as the parents of the girl had alleged having received ransom calls, the police were probing the case from abduction angle.
