2. For UNPJ

If you are in a dark room with a candle, a wood stove and a gas lamp. You only have one match, so what do you light first?

3. For UNPL

You have a pile of 24 coins. Twenty-three of these coins have the same weight, and one is heavier. Your task is to determine which coin is heavier and do so in the minimum number of weighings. You are given a beam balance (scale), which will compare the weight of any two sets of coins out of the total set of 24 coins. How many weighings are required to identify the heavier coin?

It ij simple..........

3 weighings.....

break the coins into 3 grps of eight coins each. weigh any two groups.....if they balance then the 3rd grp (which was not weighed) have the heavy coin.

if they don't balance then you know 3rd unweighed group has the heavier coin.

then make three grps again ( of the 8 coins which have heavier coin) as 3 coins, 3 coins and 2 coins..... and weigh the two 3 coin grps... if they balance then the 2 coin grp has heavier coin.......if they don't then do the third weighing with heavy grp. take any two coins and weigh them if they balance then the third one is hevaier if they don't then the balances tells u which one is heavier. If its in 2 coin grp then weigh the two coins and get the answer.....:lk :gig :gig
