Finally the much talked about films, Gangs Of Wasseypur And Teri Meri Kahaani released this Friday. Both films have managed to gain much publicity recently. That is exactly why the opening response they received is a tad disappointing. If we go by the opening day responses of these films it seems neither will fare well at the box office.

Gangs Of Wasseypur managed the western viewers to sit up and take notice. The film however failed to impress the Indian crowd. The occupancy rate of Gangs Of Wasseypur across the country did not exceed 10 to 15 percent. Recent films like Shanghai and Ferrai Ki Sawaari managed to draw a greater number of people on their respective opening days. The film has been applauded by the critics but the general mass remain unimpressed.

The other Bollywood flick which hit the theaters this week was Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer Teri Meri Kahaani. This film had a conventional and commercial script, cast and music. Still the Kunal Kohli movie failed to attract the audience to the theatres. The film had a marginally better opening than Gangs Of Wasseypur but that cannot be called impressive either. The occupancy rate in multiplexes for this reincarnation flick was about 30-35 percent. Shahid’s last unsuccessful film Mausam had managed to get a better opening than Teri Meri Kahaani. Much had been expected from the film which was directed by none other than Kunal Kohli. The Shahid and Priyanka chemistry failed to work it’s magic this time it appears. Critics are not very happy with the film either calling it predictable and run of the mill stuff.

The weekends will obviously see a rise in the occupancy rate for both the films. Even that will not be able to save either of the two films. It seems that the much awaited films has failed to strike a chord with the audiences.
