To bring transparency in the tender-bidding process of the state Municipal Corporations, the state government will start e-tendering by this year-end. This was stated by Minister for Local Bodies and Industries Manoranjan Kalia while inaugurating an up-ramp of the Jagraon Bridge here today.

The minister said they had to switch over to the e-filing of tenders, as the department was receiving many complaints regarding the tender process. “With the online filing of tenders, the department will be able to see an application online, said Kalia. He claimed that the process would streamline the procedure and everything would be conducted in a fair manner.

On the issue of the BJP’s two-day meeting in Jalandhar, the minister said the party had chalked out certain plans and they would put their demands in front of the government. On the recruitment process in the Municipal Corporation, the minister said it would take a few days to start the process.
