In an unfortunate incident, a 23-year-old Radio Mirchi RJ Shubham Keche died of a cardiac arrest while hosting a radio show on Thursday.
He was immediately rushed to a private hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.
According to a report in the Times of India, Shubham reached Mirchi’s office in the morning to host his show ‘Hi Nagpur’. Around 9:30 AM, he complained of an acute chest pain following which he was rushed to the hospital.
“There are not many people in the office during morning hours hence he asked a security guard and office boy to take him to the hospital,” said his colleagues in a statement.
Hospital director Dr Sanjay Kriplani told the media, “He might have died 10-15 minutes before reaching the hospital. Since the reason for the death could not be ascertained, the body was sent to the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC) for post-mortem.”
Police officials said that they are yet to get his post-mortem reports, however, preliminary reports indicate a death by cardiac arrest. “The samples of the heart and other viscera have been sent for chemical analysis,” the official added.
His dad had passed away three years back and Shubham was the sole bread-winner of the family.
According to Keche’s cousin, no one in his family had a history of heart diseases. Shubham’s sudden demise came as a shock to his family member and friends.
His last rites were conducted at Mokshadham Ghat this evening.
