Dravid to receive India's best cricketer award

Mumbai: India's veteran batsman Rahul Dravid will be honoured with the ‘Polly Umrigar Award for India's best cricketer of 2010-11' at the Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) Annual Awards slated for December 10 in Chennai.

The 38-year-old former India captain has scored 1,258 runs in 15 Tests at an average of 53 last season and also hit six hundreds.

Dravid was the only Indian batsman to perform well, scoring three centuries during the disastrous tour to England during the summer. He will be awarded with a a trophy and a prize of Rs.500,000 (Dh 34,863). India women's team captain Jhulan Goswami will also be honoured with the ‘M.A.Chidambaram Best Woman Cricketer of 2010-11' trophy.

Former captain and coach Ajit Wadekar will be honoured with the Colonel C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement award.

M.A. Chidambaram Trophy (Best woman cricketer of 2010-11): Jhulan Goswami (21 wickets at an average of 7.62 in eight matches, inclusive of one 5WI).

M.A. Chidambaram Trophy (Best woman cricketer (junior) of 2010-11): Mona Meshram (623 runs at an average of 103.83 in eight matches, inclusive of one century and five half centuries).

Best Umpire in Domestic cricket 2010-11: S. Ravi

Dilip Sardesai Award for India's Best Cricketer in the 2011 Test series in the West Indies: Ishant Sharma (22 wickets at an average of 16.8 from three Tests, inclusive of two 5WIs and one 10WM).

Dilip Sardesai Award for India's Best Cricketer in the 2011-12 Test series against the West Indies: To Be Decided at the end of the ongoing Test series.

Lala Amarnath Award for the Best all-rounder in the Ranji Trophy 2010-11: Iqbal Abdullah (385 runs and 27 wickets from 8 matches).

Lala Amarnath Award for the Best all-rounder in the Domestic Tournaments 2010-11: Sumit Narwal (163 runs and 13 wickets from 6 matches).
