The decomposed body of a 27-year-old woman was recovered from a sack at her rented house in west Delhi’s Ranhola on Thursday morning. The body was spotted by the woman’s landlord, who entered the house after a foul smell started emanating from the woman’s room.
Police said the woman’s husband is absconding and their 3-year-old daughter was also missing for the last three days. The woman, identified as Suhana, had been living with her mother and daughter in another house, while her husband Sunil, 29, lived in the two-room rented house where the body was found.
Suhana had gone to her village in Bihar and stayed there for almost two months. The couple had tied the knot seven years ago and had recently had a fight after which Suhana had moved to her mother’s house.
Family members said Suhana’s husband works as a labourer in a manufacturing unit and had called her to his house three days ago on the pretext of sorting out their marital dispute.

When Suhana returned to Delhi along with her daughter she started staying with her mother. Her parents said that Sunil had told them that he wants to take Suhana and their daughter to meet his parents in Uttar Pradesh.
“Suhana had told us she would come back soon. When she didn’t return, her brother went to see her three days ago but Sunil didn’t allow him to enter the house. We didn’t know that she had been murdered,” Suhana’s brother Muzamil Islam said.
Around 11.30 am on Thursday, the couple’s landlord sensed a foul smell emanating from the house and informed her family, after which they broke open the door and found her body.
The police was immediately informed . Police have sent the body for post-mortem and have registered a case of murder.
