Civic going soft? Not a chance

it seems there wasn’t a ruler in sight in Honda’s design department when they were sketching the new Civic. It’s softer and rounder than ever before but thankfully, it’s still sporty and aggressive looking.
It promises to be better than ever on the road too as Honda boffins have improved its ride and handling. It retains the basic torsion beam rear suspension rather than sticking a more sophisticated multi-link design like everyone else seems to be doing, but this means the interior and boot are still very spacious.
Under the small bonnet lies revised versions of the 1.4 and 1.8-litre units while the 2.2-litre turbodiesel i-DTEC has also been freshened up. Honda’s added an idle-stop system to all manual transmissions and the new car boasts a class-leading aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.27.
Civic fans can see the new car in all its glory at the Frankfurt motor show.
