An auto driver was killed and 10 injured as a Porsche car crashed into parked autos after ramming into the divider at Dr Radhakrishnan Salai in Chennai on Monday morning. One of the injured is critical.
Police said the driver of the out-of-control vehicle, V Vikas, son of Supreme Court lawyer Vijay Anand, was driving back with a friend after drinking at a party hosted by Tuti Patriot, who won the Tamil Nadu Premier League final on Sunday night.
The two managed to escape the crash unharmed as the airbags deployed. They have since been arrested.

After hitting the curb, the car smashed into several parked autos, injuring their drivers, who were sleeping on the road. Auto drivers Arumugam and Varadhan suffered serious injuries, and were transferred to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, while the rest were sent to the Royapettah Government Hospital. Arumugam succumbed to his injuries.
The Adyar traffic police have registered a case, and investigations are underway.
