A family of four including two children were found dead at their home, in Anakaputhur, Chennai on Friday.
FOUND DEAD AFTER 5 DAYS
Sudalai (34), his wife Thulasi and two daughterrs, Preethi (8) and Saranya (5) were found hanging from the ceiling, after authorities barged into their house due to alarm raised by neighbours.
Their neighbours said no family member was seen after Diwali.
The bodies were found in a decomposed state, indicating that they had been hanging dead for five days.
BURDEN OF LOANS
Sudalai's mother said they were under huge debt, "A police complaint had been lodged against my son after he fought with his money lender on the matter of non-repayment."
According to reports, the family committed suicide due to an unbearable burden to repay loans.
Tamil Nadu provides multiple public benefit schemes, but has failed to control the atrocity of loan sharks.
